Yesterday, I drove up north to help with the Corn Booth, although we did not have much business with all the rain. Business was beginning to pick up as we left as the sun came out and more people were getting to the fair. Without a doubt that is the best corn anywhere. It was good to see everyone from Bethels #44 and #54. They were generating a lot of questions and interest about our organization, so perhaps we will see some new members in both bethels soon.

I arrived home today with almost all of Megan and the girls' things on my front porch to pack in my car for Supreme. I really do not know where we will put everything, but it has been done before. We are not leaving til Saturday and I have a million things left to do before then, so the next news will probably be from Supreme.

Bethel #2 extended a very warm welcome last night--hot may be the correct word. The girls practiced initiation and read a petition. Besides me, our Grand Jr. Custodian, Frank Doyle and his family were also in attendance from Bethel #42. It is good to see so many traveling.

Today, I have a lot of paper work to accomplish before I take off for Bethel #38, so I am going to make this short. I hear that tonight Bethel #27 Huntington is initiating. Our Grand Marshal, Tiffany say that will make 7 so for. Keep up the good work.

Yesterday, was a long day. Rustie and I drove to Princeton to the Worthy Grand Patron's Reception. Bill Shoulders is a fine man, who appreciates all the Masonic youth groups in Indiana even if he does spend a lot of time with the Rainbow (his wife Lynn, is their Supreme Inspector). It was good to see Job's people there also, even if we did have to cut our stay short so we could get back to Greencastle.

We arrived in plenty of time for the DeMolay Installation of new officers. James Gordon, the new State Master Councilor is a great guy, from what I have seen of him so far and I am looking forward to getting to know him better this year. One of our own Job's Daughters officially became the new State Sweetheart, Samantha Burtram from Bethel #54. She will have some big shoes to fill as SarahBeth did a remarkable job last year, but I know she can do it. Sam, we are looking forward to sharing this year with both you and James.

Many of the Daughters were in attendance at the dance after installation. I know I saw girls from at least 9 Bethels. It was good to see most of the Beehive Bunch. I believe most of the girls had a great time, even if things were a little awkward with one of the DeMolay. I won't breathe another word, but remember, you can always say, "I don't believe my Grand Guardian would approve."

As we said our goodbye's, we were calling see you at Supreme. I can't believe it is so close.

As Rustie told you all about DeMolay Conclave, Thursday night, I won't say much but how nice it was to be home by 10:00. It was good to see the Grand Master and his wife Paula again. The State Master Councilor is the grandson of some very special friends of mine from Star's District 7. He sure made them proud with the job he did.

Friday, I was off to Plainfield to try to find a location for the lady line retreat--Anderson did not work. Then Vicki and I joined girls from #107 Brownsburg--Mahaley, Hope, and Miranda at their booth at O'Reilly Raceway Park. Eryka Trout kept us all in control, even though there was not that much business early on. With the heat we had to come up with some ways to keep cool and the helping hands were the best. It brought back a lot of memories from working in the past for #121 and the GGC.

Today is Mandy's 19th birthday. Have a good one.

We were able to welcome another new member of our Order last night at Fishers. Kirsten became our 6th new member this year (I hope I am counting correctly.) Tonight, Bloomington initiates their 2nd new member and Fort Wayner initiated their 2nd new member Tuesday evening. I know of several other Bethels who will be initiating soon, so keep it up girls.

We are headed to Greencastle (goody, practically my back yard) tonight for DeMolay Conclave.
Daughters, do not forget the Conclave Dance Saturday evening. We want to see a big crowd.

Another late night for Rustie and I. We traveled up to Daleville, where they initiated two new members--Jessica and Mandy. It was good to see Muncie girls there to help, as well as, Becca Cooper and Rustie. It was a lovely initiation and I know Micha, was proud to preside as HQ for her sister's initiation. I don't know about teaching an old dog new tricks, but you did a beautiful job of relearning HQ to do this. I will be at my own Bethel #121 this evening, but I know Bethel #8 is initiating tonight, so I am wishing them well. Anita

Yesterday, Rustie, Elecia, Lynn, and I traveled way up north for the Worthy Grand Matron's reception. Kathy Livings did a wonderful job of introducing people from all over the state, who had come to honor her. It was nice to see so many Job's people there. We also got the good news that Elizabeth Fisher, PHQ #34, was elected to Grand Charity at Rainbow's Grand Assembly. This is a high honor for her. I also discovered that Lynn Shoulders, the lady who is the Supreme Inspector for Rainbow in Indiana likes bees, too. Rustie and I had our usual rainy weather--rain and then stop, rain and then stop. Our miles were 440, actually hers are more than mine because she starts from Terre Haute. We have a busy week coming up--again every night. Remember create a buzz for Job's Daughters. Anita

July 12, 2010

Rustie and I traveled over 1200 miles last week going to SOI's and Grand Assembly. This week is going to seem really quiet, as I am just trying to get caught up on paper work and tie up loose ends and get ready for Supreme. Remember, Daughters, if you have something coming up, like a fund raiser and you would like me to help let me know. I sure am willing to work and already am signed up for the corn booth with the Region Bethels and there has been some talk of O'Reilly Raceway Park with #107.
