Saturday of this past weekend was really a full day. We started off with an awesome OV in Bloomington. They have to hold the record for the most offices filled by their own Bethel--14. Lunch after ward was terrific. They knew how much I like Italian food. I had made arrangements to come back and eat Thanksgiving dinner with them tonight, but with the cross for Ruth Goss I will not be able to do that.
We moved on to the next OV in Franklin with both Bethels #53 and #37. Here, the Daughters initiated 5 new members; 4 for Franklin and 1 for Shelbyville. This brings our number up to 38 initiated since June. We should have more this weekend. Thanks to the girls who came and helped them do the work. Before the meeting Callie Rose from #67 ran errands for me, so I want to thank her.
I lost my traveling companions after the 1st OV as Rustie went with Tiffany to the Shrine to present a program on Job's Daughters. She was singled out at the Shrine Youth Dance that night by one of the Shriners for her signing of "God Bless America." The dance had a good turnout and it was good to see our girls having so much fun. With such a long day we left a little early to get home at a decent hour.
On Sunday, I attended Bethel #121's Go-to-Church Sunday at the Center Point United Methodist Church. Some of us went out to lunch afterwards.

My life has certainly taken a sad turn in the last week. When Carol Goss Rose called to tell me Ruth had passed away just a week and a day after Audra, it was more than I wanted to believe. While my family was very close to Audra, Ruth had been there from the very beginning of my Job's Daughters' life. I remember sitting in the choir across the room from her and being so impressed with what a kind lady she was. The first Job-A-Rama might have been during Audra's term, but it was Ruth's idea. Shortly after I met Ruth, she was involved in an accident which hurt her hand, but she still helped clip the Betty Crocker coupons during Audra's year, so that the GGC would be able to give more scholarships.
I was GB Representative to Oregon when she was Supreme Guardian and was able to visit while she was there. Ruth, told the GG of OR to give the GBHQ and I her bed, because she did not need a big bed all to herself.
While working on Ruth's Degree of Royal Purple application, I asked why she had never been HQ of Bethel #2. I was told there was a Daughter at that time who had just lost her father. Ruth felt this was something this other young lady needed in her life, so Ruth bypassed this honor.
I close with the thought that this loving, gracious, dedicated lady had now gone to the Great Bethel on High and will deeply missed by all who knew her.

We were almost home Sunday from the Leadership Workshop when we received the call from Tara Waller. A great lady, Audra Piner, had passed away the night before. I immediately flashed back to the 70's and was a GB girl again. That is when I met Audra and have loved and admired her every since. While her health had kept her from being with the Indiana Job's for several years, she was always with us in spirit and will remain so in our hearts.

I cannot believe I have been up for several hours. I knew when we went to bed so early last night here in Kansas City, that with settting our clocks back this would happen. Thank goodness for the 24 hour business center. I have been sitting here sending and sorting emails.
Vicki, Tiffany, and I left Friday morning to drive here for the Supreme Leadership Workshop. We are actually in MO, not KS. It has been fun seeing old friends and making some new ones. One of the first to great us with a big hug was SBHQ Courtney Painter. She introduced us to 2 of the Daughters with her from Delaware. Friday night we had a get-acquainted session, where we did some exercises to meet new people. Then we stayed in the lobby visiting with MI people.
Saturday, at our breakfast session, we had a wonderful keynote speaker, who spoke about dealing with children at risk. Our other breakout sessions yesterday were also very informative and helpful. The Daughters from MO presented a fashion show during lunch. We ate with Denise, but she had meetings to attend most of the day, so did not get to spend much time with her. While Denise brought me back to the hotel after dinner, Vicki and Tiffany stayed at the shopping mall. I was able to get some more work done and just sit back and relax.
We have another breakfast session this am and then we will head back to IN. I am not looking forward to another 8 hour drive, but at least it is Vicki doing the driving. It will be good to be home.

Tuesday night I was so happy that Bethel #121 finally got to initiate. That makes #33 for the state. We had so much help from Bethels #2 and #22. The girls were awesome and the adults too for bringing them. I must apologize to Katie W from #22. I lost my place when you needed my help. You were able to go right on though and not let it throw you. A lesson for anyone holding the ritual--KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PAGE.
Also a big thank you to everyone who commented on the proposed ritual changes. Lets hope they pay attention and do not destroy our ritual.
I received a call from Ronda last night and she told me we sold over 700 pies. This is fantastic. We even shipped them out of state. Some went to AZ to a former Job's Daughter from my own Bethel #29. This just shows what we can do if we try. By carrying this on from year to year people will be used to us selling the pies and look forward to ordering them from us. I predict twice the sales next year.

What a lovely, if cool, weekend we just had. Mine started on Friday evening with the Lady Line Retreat in Plainfield. Stephanie, Edie, Tiffany, Elecia, Brittney, Lindsey and I shared dinner and then broke off to discuss lots of things. Later in the evening we got together as a group and talked over more things. After a really late night, breakfast came much too early and then more discussion. We hope we have come up with some ideas that will help our Order grow and thrive.
Elecia and I then traveled to Terre Haute for the first ever combined GB Region #2 and #5 Get-together. It was held at the Terre Haute Shrine Country Place and I had to talk Terri Crouch and Elecia in as GPS systems were not working or non existent. This is where the last OV will be in May, so at least these people will be able to find it. After an excellent lunch, Eli and I got to judge the costume contest.
After the get-together I had time to race home, unload my car, and then pick up Bethel #121 girls to go to our Bethel's Halloween Party at our Guardian's house. Kathy's favorite holiday is Halloween so she goes all out to decorate. Again, we had great food, then roasted Marshmallows around the fire. We also played an icky game of placing our hands in bags and trying to guess what we were actually feeling. Then after some ghost stories we headed home. The girls told tales all the way home. I told them I had to go into my house alone, but that did not stop Taylor O.
